Lemon Tea Bread
Lemon Tea Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter, 1 c. sugar, grated rind of 1 lemon, 2 eggs, beaten and 1 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cream butter.
Add sugar and grated lemon rind.
Add eggs. Sift flour and baking powder.
Add alternately with the milk.
Add nuts.
Bake in greased loaf in a 375Β° oven for about 35 minutes (use toothpick test for doneness).
As soon as bread is removed from the oven, pour over the top of a mixture of 1/4 cup sugar and the juice and grated rind of 1 large lemon.
Let bread cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
