Cream the sugar and shortening together and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well.
Add flour alternately with lemon extract and 7-Up.
Begin with flour and end with flour.
Pour batter into well-greased and floured Bundt pan or tube pan.
Bake at 325Β° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. When thoroughly cooled, sift powdered sugar over cake.
