Lemon Pound Cake
Lemon Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening, 2 c. sugar, 3 c. all-purpose flour, 1 tsp. lemon extract and 1 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Cream together the shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Add 1 1/2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup buttermilk, salt and flavoring.
Beat 2 minutes.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating 2 minutes after each egg.
Add 1 1/2 cups of flour to batter.
Mix 1/2 teaspoon of soda in remaining buttermilk and add it to flour mix.
Beat 2 minutes. Pour into tube pan that has been greased with vegetable oil.
Bake at 325Β° for 1 hour.
