Lebkuchen
Lebkuchen is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 3/4 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. soda, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. cloves and 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Sift together flour, soda and spices.
Stir in candied fruit and nuts.
Add Karo, sugar, lemon juice and rind (if desired) to beaten egg; mix well.
Stir in flour-fruit mixture.
Divide dough in half and turn out on well-greased and floured baking sheets. Moisten hands and flatten to 1/8-inch thickness (dough will rise during baking).
Bake in hot oven at 400Β° for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
