Layered Salad
Layered Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 head lettuce, 1/2 c. diced celery, 1/2 c. diced red onion, 1/2 c. diced green pepper and 1/2 c. shredded carrots, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cut lettuce into bite size pieces and place in bottom of 13 x 9-inch dish.
Mix celery, onion, pepper, carrots and water chestnuts together; spread evenly over lettuce.
Spread Hellmann's mayonnaise over top of mixture.
Make sure you use sufficient mayonnaise, because this will become your dressing when served. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons sugar over mayonnaise.
Cover with plastic wrap; let stand overnight in refrigerator.
