Kosher Dill Pickles
Kosher Dill Pickles is an moderately easy dinner you can prepare in about 2 hours 14 minutes. Made with qt. medium cukes, c. vinegar, c. salt, qt. water and dill, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Sterilize the jars for 5 minutes.
Wash pickling cukes. Let stand in water for hours.
Put sprigs of dill in bottom of quart jar.
Pack cukes jar.
Add 2 pieces of garlic and a piece of red pepper.
On top of each jar, put 2 sprigs of dill and a sprinkle of alum.
Combine vinegar, salt and water and bring to a boil.
Fill jars and seal.
Makes 7 quarts.
