King Ranch Chicken
King Ranch Chicken is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large fryer, stewed, boned and cut into bite size, 1 large onion, chopped fine, 1 large green pepper, chopped, 12 corn tortillas and 1/2 c. chicken broth, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Combine chicken, onion and green pepper.
Layer alternately with tortillas (which have been dipped into hot stock, chicken broth, long enough to soften) in shallow 3-quart buttered casserole.
Pour 1/2 cup broth over layered mixture.
Top with grated cheese and sprinkle with chili powder and garlic salt.
Mix and heat soups; add in order: soup, then tomatoes.
Bake in moderate 350Β° oven for 45 minutes.
