Sift all the ingredients together and make a nest.
Add most of the milk and shortening.
Squeeze the shortening, flour and milk until well mixed.
Add rest of milk, if needed, and mix.
Turn on floured board.
Knead until desired consistency.
Roll onto floured board.
Cut into desired size.
Bake at 350Β° until golden brown.
