Karo-Nut Pie
Karo-Nut Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 eggs, 1 c. white sugar, 1 tbsp. flour, 1 tbsp. buttermilk and 1 c. white karo syrup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Beat eggs until frothy; add flour to sugar, then add to egg mixture.
Add buttermilk, syrup, salt and vanilla.
Cut butter into small pieces and add to mixture; beat well. (A wire egg beater is better than an electric mixer.) Stir in pecans and pour into unbaked pastry shell.
Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until top is slightly brown.
Reduce oven temperature to 250° and bake 45 minutes or until set.
