Kare's Toffee
Kare'S Toffee is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. butter (not margarine), 1/4 c. water, 2 small packs slivered almond pieces, 2 c. sugar and 2 tbsp. clear karo syrup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Melt butter and sugar in a pot, then add water and Karo syrup. Cook over low heat until mixture reaches hard-crack stage (300Β° if using candy thermometer).
Stir the whole time.
Remove from heat; add almonds and stir.
Spread toffee on 2 well-greased cookie sheets and cool.
