Add water to raisins and boil 5 minutes, cool.
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
Add baking powder, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt.
Mix well and add chopped nuts.
Chill dough; drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
Makes 5 dozen cookies.
