Jam Bread
Jam Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2/3 c. shortening, 2 2/3 c. sugar, 4 whole eggs, 2/3 c. water and 3 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Cream together shortening and sugar.
Beat eggs and water into mixture.
Set aside.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves.
Add to sugar mixture and mix well.
Add nuts and blueberries.
Mix gently.
Spray eight 1-pint, wide mouthed canning jars with nonstick cooking spray oil.
Then half fill jars with mixture and place on cookie sheet.
Bake in jars at 325Β° for 45 minutes. Allow to cool slightly and seal tightly with sterilized lids. When ready to serve, spoon out of jars.
