Jam Bars
Jam Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 c. margarine, 1 tsp. grated lemon rind and 1/2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in egg and lemon rind.
Press half of mixture into bottom of greased 9-inch square pan.
Spread with preserves.
Top with remaining crumb mixture.
Bake at 375Β° for 25 to 30 minutes or until brown.
Cool and cut into squares.
