Italian Tomato Sauce

Made with 1 (28 oz.) can italian plum tomatoes, 4 tbsp. olive oil, 3 large onions, chopped, 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped and 2 (6 oz. each) cans tomato paste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Place tomatoes, half at a time, into blender and process at Purée for 1 minute.
In deep fryer, heat oil and saute onions and garlic in olive oil until soft, but not brown.
Add tomato purée and remaining ingredients.
Turn fryer dial to first medium, then turn to simmer.
Cook sauce uncovered for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
If necessary, add a little water as the sauce cooks.
