Italian Cream Cake
Italian Cream Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. crisco, 1 stick oleo or butter, 2 c. flour and 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Cream the sugar, oleo, Crisco and egg yolks one at a time. Add milk and soda mixture alternately with flour.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla.
Add pecans and coconut.
Bake in 3 layers using 9-inch greased and floured cake pans at 350Β° for 30 minutes.
