Italian Bread
Italian Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 tbsp. active dry yeast (1 pkg.), 1 3/4 c. warm water (110~ to 115~), 1 tsp. sugar, 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water; add sugar.
Allow yeast to proof (foam) about 10 minutes.
Add remaining 1 1/2 cups water, salt and 1 tablespoon olive oil.
Add flour 1 cup at a time until mixture forms a ball (you may not need all the flour). Knead dough on floured work surface for 5 to 10 minutes until shiny and elastic.
