Irish Soda Bread
Irish Soda Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. all-purpose flour, 1 c. quick or old fashioned oats (uncooked), 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 tbsp. caraway seed and 2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Combine all ingredients except buttermilk, raisins and butter. Gradually stir in buttermilk and raisins; mix until dry ingredients are moistened.
Knead until smooth, about 1 minute. Shape into a ball.
Place on well-greased cookie sheet; flatten to form 7-inch circle.
Cut cross in top 1/4-inch deep.
Bake at 350Β° for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Brush with 1 tablespoon butter.
Cool on wire rack.
Makes 1 loaf.
