Combine ingredients over low heat and stir until consistency of stiff mashed potatoes. Remove from heat and cover with wet towel. Allow pan to cool enough to touch.

Remove mixture from pan and knead until smooth and dough-like.

On surface covered with wax paper, roll to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters. Re-work excess, roll and cut.

Set ornaments on rack to air dry 4 to 5 hours.

Thin acrylic paint with water and paint; air dry. Paint, polyurethane or varnish; let dry. Ready to hang on tree, etc.

Makes 18 to 24 ornaments.
