Iced Tea Devil's Food Cake
Iced Tea Devil'S Food Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2/3 c. shortening, 2 eggs, 1 c. strong cold tea with 1 tsp. soda dissolved in it and 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream shortening and sugar.
One at a time. Sift flour, cocoa and salt.
Add alternately with iced tea and soda. Add vanilla.
Bake about 50 minutes (or until toothpick inserted into center comes clean)
325° in a Pyrex baking dish (8 x 11 1/2 x 2 1/4-inch) or 350° in metal pan.
It takes a little longer to bake in glass pan.
