Icebox Cookies
Icebox Cookies is an impressive dinner. Made with 3/4 c. butter, 3/4 c. shortening, 1 c. white sugar, 1 c. brown sugar and 3 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream together butter, shortening and sugars.
Add eggs; cream again.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add to creamed mixture; blend.
Stir in vanilla and nuts.
This is a stiff dough.
Mold into long squares or rectangles, or press into foil boxes or juice cans, to shape.
Refrigerate overnight or freeze.
Slice thin. Place 1/2 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 450Β° for 7 to 8 minutes.
Remove from cookie sheet quickly.
Cool on a rack. Empty foil boxes or cans are good "shapers" and all cookies will be the same size.
These cookies will keep indefinitely, if you hide them!
