Icebox Cookies
Icebox Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter or margarine, 2/3 c. brown sugar, packed, 1/3 c. granulated sugar, 1 egg and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cream together the butter, brown sugar and sugar.
Add the egg and beat.
Add the vanilla, almond flavoring, flour, salt and baking soda; mix.
Add the walnuts and mix well.
Shape into a roll; refrigerate.
Slice off thin pieces, about 1/4-inch.
Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350Β° for about 8 minutes.
Cool on rack.
Makes about 3 dozen.
They freeze very well as dough or as cookie.
