Hush Puppies
Hush Puppies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. white corn meal, 1 c. all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. baking soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Add milk, buttermilk, eggs and oil.
Stir until well blended.
Add onion and mix well.
Batter should be stiff.
Drop rounded tablespoons into hot deep-fat fryer.
Turn when hush puppy floats and brown both sides to golden brown.
Drain on paper towels.
Makes about 24.
