Hungarian Kossuth Cake
Hungarian Kossuth Cake is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 lb. butter or margarine, 6 eggs, separated (whites beaten stiff) and 1 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream sugar and shortening until smooth.
Add egg yolks, 2 at a time.
Add flour and baking powder.
Beat egg whites stiff. Fold into mix until blended.
Pour into lightly greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 25 to 30 minutes until spongy.
Do not overbake.
