Hot Water Cornbread
Hot Water Cornbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. white cornmeal, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. sugar, 1 tbsp. shortening and 1/4 c. half and half (canned milk will do; i use milnot), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Mix cornmeal, salt and sugar.
Add and cut in shortening.
Add half and half.
Add boiling water.
Fry in hot skillet with at least 1/2-inch of shortening or oil.
I drop from teaspoon; it turns out so good!
