Hot Rolls
Hot Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. yeast, 1 1/2 c. water, 1 c. milk, 3/4 c. butter flavor crisco and 3/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Put 1 tablespoon sugar in 1/2 cup very warm water, stir to dissolve.
Add yeast and let set.
Scald milk, add Crisco, sugar, salt and water.
When warm add beaten eggs.
Mix well.
Add 2 cups flour and mix well, add yeast mixture and beat well.
Add enough flour to make a soft, pliable dough.
Knead well until not sticky. Grease sides and bottom of large bowl, turn dough in bowl to grease top.
Cover and let rise until double.
Punch down and let rise again.
Break into rolls and let rise until double.
Bake in 350Β° oven for 35 minutes.
Butter tops when done.
