Hot Mustard-Cheese Bread
Hot Mustard-Cheese Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (1 lb.) loaf french bread, 1/2 c. (8 tbsp.) butter or margarine, softened, 1/4 c. chopped scallions or chives, 3 tbsp. horseradish mustard and 6 to 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Cut bread into 20 slices, cutting to, but not through, bottom crust.
In bowl, combine butter, scallions, mustard, bacon and poppy seed.
Spread on both sides of bread slices.
Cut cheese slices in halves diagonally.
Place cheese triangles between bread slices.
Wrap bread in foil.
Bake at 350Β° about 20 minutes. Serve hot.
