Hot Fudge Sauce
Hot Fudge Sauce is an moderately easy dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 16 minutes. Made with sq. unsweetened chocolate, c. sugar, . vanilla, . butter or oleo and c. boiling water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Chop chocolate coarsely.
Combine with oleo or butter and boiling water in a large saucepan.
Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted.
Add sugar and corn syrup. Heat slowly to boiling, lower heat and simmer gently 8 minutes. Watch carefully but do not stir.
Test for thickness on ice cube. Add vanilla.
Refrigerate leftover sauce in screw top jar.
Reheat in warm water (in jar) until soft enough to pour.
Makes 2 1/2 cups.
