Homemade Rolls
Homemade Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. yeast, 1 c. warm water, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 egg and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Let yeast soften in 1 cup water.
Put 1/2 cup of water in a measuring cup.
Add shortening until cup becomes full of water; this equals 1/2 cup shortening.
Pour off water.
In a large bowl, combine egg, salt, sugar and shortening that has been melted and cool slightly.
Stir well and add dissolved yeast.
Add flour until dough has taken all it will hold.
Form into a ball and place in greased bowl.
Cover and put in refrigerator to let rise at least 8 hours or overnight before using.
