Homemade Chili
Homemade Chili is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. ground beef, 1 tbsp. shortening, 1 large onion, 1 clove garlic and 1 can chili powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Chop onion and garlic (fine), browning in shortening.
Add chili powder and bay leaves.
Add meat.
Add purée, mashed tomatoes and water, then cook slowly for 1/2 hour, or until meat is done.
Thicken with 1/2 cup flour or enough to thicken it. Salt to taste.
