Homemade Bread
Homemade Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 qt. milk, 1 c. sugar, 2 mounded tbsp. crisco, 7 tsp. salt and 2 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Scald milk and pour over sugar, Crisco and salt.
Beat eggs and add to mixture.
Measure 2 1/2 cups of flour into another bowl (gallon crock) and add yeast.
Pour lukewarm mixture and mix.
Add rest of flour gradually.
Takes about 4 pounds.
Knead about 10 minutes.
Grease bowl.
Cover and let rise.
Punch down and let rise again.
Punch down and shape into loaves, rolls or cinnamon rolls.
Bake at 325Β° until lightly browned.
