Combine marshmallows, butter, vanilla and food coloring in top of double boiler; heat until smooth, stirring frequently.
Take off stove; gradually add cereal.
Drop by tablespoon onto waxed paper; cut in the shape of a 9-inch circle.
Add candied red cherries in groups of three.
