Hickory Nut Cake
Hickory Nut Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. crisco, 1/2 c. butter, 2 c. sugar, 5 egg yolks and 2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream together Crisco, butter and sugar.
Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each one.
Add flour, sifted together with soda and salt.
Add alternately with buttermilk and vanilla. Stir in coconut and nuts.
Fold in egg whites, beaten until fluffy.
Bake in 3 greased and floured 9-inch pans at 350Β° for 30 minutes.
