Heavenly Egg Nog
Heavenly Egg Nog is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 eggs, 1 qt. milk or light cream (half and half), 2/3 c. sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Separate the eggs; reserve the whites in a separate bowl. Beat together the 6 egg yolks, milk or light cream, sugar and salt.
Stir in vanilla and, if desired, rum, peach brandy or bourbon whiskey.
Chill this mixture for 3 to 4 hours to allow flavors to mellow and blend.
Then with an electric mixer, whip the reserved egg whites until stiff but not dry.
