Hazel's Chocolate Candy
Hazel'S Chocolate Candy is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring, 1/2 stick margarine, 3 tbsp. peanut butter and 3/4 can cream, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Mix sugar and cocoa.
Add cream and add margarine and vanilla. Cook over medium heat, about 20 minutes.
(Test candy and drop a few drops into a cup of cool water if ball or lump forms.)
Set off heat and add peanut butter.
If no lump forms, cook 5 to 10 minutes longer, then add peanut butter.
Pour onto buttered platter.
Chill, cut and serve.
