Mix baking soda, vanilla and 1 teaspoon water.
Set aside. Combine water, sugar and corn syrup; heat to 275°.
Add nuts and cook until 302° using candy thermometer.
Remove from heat, add butter and baking soda mixture and stir.
Pour onto greased cookie sheet to cool.
When cool, break into pieces.
