Thaw potatoes, melt 1/4 cup margarine, add salt, pepper, onion, chicken soup, sour cream and cheese to butter.
Stir; fold in potatoes, spread mixture in greased 2-quart casserole.
Mix corn flakes in 1/4 cup melted butter.
Pour over top of mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 350Β° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
