Hamburger-Vegetable Chowder
Hamburger-Vegetable Chowder is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. lean ground beef, 2 medium carrots, diced, 2 tsp. salt, 1/3 c. rice (regular long grain) and 3 tbsp. butter or oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Brown hamburger in oil over medium heat. Add all other ingredients except rice.
Cook on low for 1 hour, then add rice. Cook until rice is done. Add more water or tomato juice, if it is too thick.
V-8 juice may be substituted for liquid.
Makes 6 servings.
Can be frozen.
I make mine thick.
