Hamburg-Potato Casserole
Hamburg-Potato Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. ground beef, 1 onion, chopped, 2 to 3 c. tomato juice, 1 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. oregano, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Cook beef and onions in skillet until meat is browned.
Drain grease off.
Add juice, salt, pepper, oregano and sugar.
Cook 2 minutes to blend flavors.
Put sliced potatoes and meat mixture in layers in 9 x 13-inch pan, starting with meat mixture and ending with meat mixture.
Cover and bake at 350° to 375° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until potatoes are tender.
Remove cover and top with cheese.
Allow cheese time to melt before serving.
