Trim excess fat from ham slices.
Soak in warm water for 15 minutes; drain.
Heat ham fat in skillet over medium heat until melted.
Brown ham on both sides over medium heat; remove to warm platter.
Pour drippings from skillet.
Pour hot coffee into skillet.
Stir and scrape ham particles from skillet; pour over baking powder biscuits.
Serve with ham.
