Gum Candy Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 3 c. applesauce, 3/4 c. shortening, 3 eggs, 2 c. sugar and 3 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs until light.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with applesauce.
Add nuts and raisins and cut up gum candy slices. Bake 1 1/2 hours in 325Β° oven in greased, paper lined pans.
Fill pans not more than two-thirds full.
