Cream the butter, oil, sugar and salt.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
Add flour and milk in small quanities (alternate, flour, milk, flour, milk, etc.; end with flour).
Fold flavoring in by hand.
Grease the baking pan, then dust it with flour. Place cake in a cold oven, then bake at 325Β° for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Do not open oven door while cake is baking!
Remove from pan at once.
