Granpolly's Bread
Granpolly'S Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. water (110~), 2 tbsp. yeast, 4 c. wheat flour, 1/2 c. sugar and 1/2 c. dry milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Dissolve and set aside the water and yeast.
Mix with dough hook the wheat flour, sugar, milk and salt.
Add applesauce and yeast water from above.
Mix in 2 cups flour.
Cover with plastic wrap; place in warm oven 15 to 30 minutes.
Knead 5 to 10 minutes. Form into loaves.
Place in lightly greased pans, covered with plastic wrap.
Let rise in warm oven 15 to 20 minutes, not above the top of the pan.
Turn on oven to 325Β°; bake 25 to 30 minutes for small pans.
