Granny Young's Tea Cakes
Granny Young'S Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 eggs, 1 3/4 c. sugar, pinch of salt, 1/4 tsp. soda and 2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cream the shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, beating well.
Add salt, soda, baking powder, vanilla and buttermilk.
Add flour 1 cup at a time.
Dough will be fairly stiff.
Lightly sprinkle your hands with flour; spoon a rounded tablespoonful of dough, shaping cookies with your hands.
Place on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350Β° for about 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Makes about 4 dozen.
