Granny's Date Nut Roll
Granny'S Date Nut Roll is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. sugar, 1 c. milk, 3 tbsp. light corn syrup, 2 tbsp. margarine and 1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

In saucepan, stir sugar, milk, syrup, margarine and dates. Cook to soft ball stage (240Β°).
Add pecans and vanilla.
Beat until mixture becomes firm.
Pour onto damp clean towel and shape into 1 1/2-inches thick roll.
Refrigerate until firm.
Slice. This roll keeps for a long time in a tightly covered container.
