Granny Byrum's Chicken Stew
Granny Byrum'S Chicken Stew is an easy dinner. Made with 1 whole chicken, cut up or 3 to 4 breasts (skin on), salt and pepper to taste, 4 heaping tbsp. meal and 2 heaping tbsp. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Put chicken in large pot; pour in about 3 quarts of water. Cook about 45 minutes until chicken is done.
Remove chicken; set aside.
Mix meal and flour in large glass.
Finish filling glass with water; stir well.
Pour this into boiling chicken broth.
Cook until this thickens slightly.
Remove from heat.
Put chicken back in pot or pick chicken off the bone, then stir in pot of stew. Serve with cornbread.
