Grannies Fruit Cake
Grannies Fruit Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. dates, pitted, 2/3 c. butter, 1/4 c. dark molasses (i use dark karo), 1 c. raisins (seedless) and 1 1/4 c. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Combine first 6 ingredients.
Boil gently for 3 minutes, then cool in large mixing bowl.
Add mixed fruit and nuts.
Beat in eggs.
Sift in flour and add cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, salt and soda.
Beat well after each addition.
Pour into tube pan and bake in very slow oven at 275Β° for 2 1/2 hours or until completely done.
