Grannie Brockman's Icebox Rolls
Grannie Brockman'S Icebox Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 cake yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. cold water, 3 tsp. sugar, 2 c. cold sweet milk, 4 c. flour and 1/2 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Break yeast into mixing bowl; add water.
When dissolved, add sugar and milk.
Sift flour, salt, soda and baking powder.
Add dry mixture to liquid.
Beat with a spoon until smooth.
Melt lard; add to dough mixture.
Mix well.
Add rest of flour to make a soft dough.
Put in refrigerator until ready to use.
Roll out as thin as pie crust.
Cut with a biscuit cutter.
Place a dot of butter on one and put one on top of the other.
Let rise until double in size.
Bake at 400Β° until golden brown.
