Grannie Brockman's Icebox Rolls

Break yeast into mixing bowl; add water.
When dissolved, add sugar and milk.
Sift flour, salt, soda and baking powder.
Add dry mixture to liquid.
Beat with a spoon until smooth.
Melt lard; add to dough mixture.
Mix well.
Add rest of flour to make a soft dough.
Put in refrigerator until ready to use.
Roll out as thin as pie crust.
Cut with a biscuit cutter.
Place a dot of butter on one and put one on top of the other.
Let rise until double in size.
