Grandma's Apple Grunt
Grandma'S Apple Grunt is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, shortening, 1 egg and 1/2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Using a mid-sized glass dish, grease dish with oleo.
Slice apples into dish until dish is 2/3 full.
Mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon and pour over the apples.
In another dish, mix shortening the size of an egg, egg, sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt and and mix.
Pour enough milk in to make a thick dough.
Pour over apples.
Bake at 350Β° until brown and done, about 35 to 40 minutes.
