Grandma Airhart's "Tea Cakes"
Grandma Airhart'S "Tea Cakes" is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 egg and 1 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs.
Add dry ingredients (sifted together) and liquids alternately.
Chill for several hours before rolling out.
When the dough is the desired thickness, sprinkle sugar over surface and roll lightly.
