Graham Cracker Cake

Made with 1 c. sifted flour, 3 1/2 tsp. double-acting baking powder, 3/4 tsp. salt, 2 c. graham cracker crumbs (approximately 30 sq. crackers) and 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Add crumbs, shortening, milk and vanilla.
Beat on low speed until moistened.
Then beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Add eggs and beat for one more minute.
Pour batter into 2 (9-inch) greased pans.
Bake at 375Β° for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake shrinks slightly from edge of pan.
Frost or use whipped cream and fruit if wanted.
